IMPORTANT UPDATE

St. Petersburg Applicants

Applicants can now also walk-in to Spain Visa application in St. Petersburg, Russia from 9 am till 2 pm between Monday till Friday (except holidays) for submission of their Spain visa application.

Important - Applicants with prior appointment will be attended before walk-in applicants.

NOTICE

From September 15, 2020, the Saint Petersburg Spanish visa application center, BLS International, will accept Schengen visa applications submitted by the following categories of people:

  • Seamen that must board a ship that is in a Spanish port.
  • Highly qualified workers whose work is necessary and cannot be postponed or performed remotely.
  • People traveling to Spain for urgent medical treatment. Residents in Spain who have lost or stolen their foreign identity card.
  • Students who carry out their studies, up to 90 days, in Spain: only for face-to-face studies, full-time, in centers duly accredited by the competent Spanish authorities and after completion of which the student receives a diploma or certificate of studies. Visa applications for "cultural tourism" (eg very short language courses, etc.) will not be accepted.

Taking into account that these are exceptions to the application of temporary travel restrictions not essential for reasons of public order and public health due to the health crisis caused by COVID-19,all visa applications whose applicants cannot prove conclusively that are included in any of the categories exempted from the restrictions will be refused.

A new regulation has been issued by the Spanish Ministry of Health, dealing with the health measures to be implemented and concerning the travellers arriving in Spain. In this regard, it is mandatory for prospective travellers to know about the following:

  • All passengers arriving in Spain, may it by air or sea, will undergo a health check carried out by Spanish authorities before entering the country. These controls may include a temperature check as well as a documentary and a visual assessment of passengers’ condition.
  • Before initiating the travel to Spain all passengers originating from any airport or port must complete a public health form. It can be done online at www.spth.gob.es or through the free application: SPAIN TRAVEL HEALTH-sp TH. Once the form is filled-in, the person concerned will receive a QR code, which you will have to show upon arrival in Spain.
  • A transitional period is established, until July 31, 2020, in which international passengers who have not been able to complete the public health form electronically may fill it and present it upon arrival in Spain in paper format.

Resumption of the amission of national visit applications

The Consulate of Spain in St. Petersburg informs that from 15 May it will begin to receive again applications exclusively from NATIONAL VISAS by appointment, excluding those processed on the basis of the Entrepreneurial Support Act of 27 September 2013 (Ley 14/2013). Provisionally, and until further notice, appointments will be provided by the Consulate by email for which interested parties must apply to the address cog.sanpeter.vis@maec.es, indicating full name of all applicants (in the event that they are more than one), passport number of all applicants, contact phone number, type of visa requested (non-profit residence, studies, etc.).

The Consulate of Spain in St. Petersburg takes the opportunity to communicate that the categories of applicants exempt from temporary travel restrictions to the European Union (for example, crew members of ships travelling to Spain to board a ship in a Spanish port; persons who must travel to Spain for the death of a family member in Spain; etc.), who need to apply for a visa, they must contact the Consulate via email cog.sanpeter.vis@maec.es to request an appointment and be informed of the specific documentation they need to present.

The deadline for submitting a visa application is extended to 6 months instead of 3 months. In case of Seafarers they may be presented with a maximum advance of 9 months.
