Note: Number of pages: 4 (the form must be printed back-to-back). The visa application form must be signed by the applicant. Visa application form for minor children is to be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Overview

Please, check if you belong to the consular district of the Consulate General of Spain in St.Petersburg:

All the residents in the consular district of the Consulate General of Spain in St.Petersburg (St.Petersburg and Leningrad region, Pskov region, Kaliningrad region, Murmansk region, Velikiy Novgorod and Novgorod region, Vyborg and Republic of Karelia) wishing to apply for a transit or a short-stay visa (up to 90 days in any period of 180 days) can submit their applications in any of the Spain Visa Application Centres mentioned here.

The residence in the North-West consular district can be confirmed by the registration, the job certificate as well as by the bank statement. If the applicant has the registration in the North-West consular district, but actually doesn't live in, and this is confirmed by the job certificate and/or the bank statement applicant should submit the documents in the Visa Center competent for the region of his actual residence.

Rules of submission of visa application:

Please, click here in order to find the detailed information on the entire application process including enrolment of biometric identifiers. All supporting documents must be presented on the day when you submit your visa application.

The visa application must be made not earlier than 6 months prior to the travel date, and seamen – 9 months prior to the travel date.

Please, note that you need to submit your visa application at least 15 calendar days prior to the travel date.

Important notice: if your application is incomplete and you still wish to submit it, the visa application centre can accept your documents but will bear no responsibility for any possible negative consequences: delays in processing, restrictions on entries (f.ex, one entry visa instead of multiple entry visa) and days of stay and even denial. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to submit complete application. The list of requisite documents can be found here in the section “Documents required”. Please, note that the Consulate General of Spain in St.Petersburg has the right to claim any additional documentation or information in all cases.

INFORMATION SHEET TO VISA HOLDERS

You have been issued a visa for the territories of the Schengen States.

As soon as you receive your short-stay visa, make sure that all the information it contains is correct.

Check the following:

  • Your passport has a passport number. This number is also indicated on the visa sticker. Make sure that these numbers are the same.
  • You applied for your visa for a specific period or periods. Check that your air ticket corresponds with the entry and exit dates indicated on the visa sticker.
  • Check that the number of entries you applied for (one, two, or multiple) corresponds with the number of entries indicated on your visa sticker.
  • Check that your name is spelled correctly.

Do this yourself in order to avoid any problems or extra costs arising when using your visa. If you think that the information on the visa is incorrect, tell the consulate or embassy immediately, so that any errors can be corrected.

How to read the visa sticker

DURATION OF STAY………DAYS indicates the number of days, you may stay in the Schengen area. The days should be counted from the date you enter the Schengen area (the entry stamp) to the date you exit the Schengen area (the exit stamp), i.e. both days included.

The period of time between “FROM …UNTIL” is usually longer than the number of days printed in the “DURATION OF STAY” field. The difference in period is meant to give you flexibility to plan your entry into and exit from the Schengen area, but your stay in the Schengen area must never exceed the exact number of days in the “DURATION OF STAY …DAYS” field. No matter how many days you have stayed in the Schengen area, you must leave no later than the date printed in the “UNTIL” field."

Controls at the border

Your short-stay visa allows you to travel to […..] and usually to other Schengen States. But it does not automatically entitle you to enter the Schengen area. So you may have to provide certain information at border or other controls. You may, for instance, have to provide information on your means of support, how long you intend to stay in […], and why you are visiting […]. In some cases, such checks may result in a refusal for the visa holder to enter […] or the Schengen area.

It is therefore recommended that you carry with you copies of the documents which you presented when you applied for the visa (e.g. letters of invitation, travel confirmations, other documents stating the purpose of your stay). This will help to make the border control procedure easier and avoid delays at the border.

NB: You must keep to the period of stay allowed by your visa. Misuse and overstay may result in you being expelled and banned from obtaining a new visa for a certain period of time.

Important notice on COVID-19 related travel restrictions

As part of the measures to contain the spreading of COVID-19, individual Schengen States have introduced travel restrictions, including at certain borders between those states.

Depending on the development of the epidemiological situation both within and outside the EU, travel restrictions may be eased or reintroduced.

All travelers are responsible for verifying the travel restrictions in place before departure. Holders of a Schengen visas are not automatically entitled to enter the Schengen area but must respect the travel restrictions in place.

Important:

"Urgent Visa" service is available in Saint-Petersburg only for citizens of Russia and other countries that signed Visa Facilitation Agreement with the European Union and can be used only by seamen and people going to Spain for business affairs. In Murmansk the service is available on any working day from 09:00 till 12:00, only for seamen and stipulated the collection of documents on 5th working day excluding the day of submission. For instance, submission is on Monday, collection is on Monday of the next week, unless there are additional holidays.

Please note:

  • All fees will be paid by Cash as mode of payment with effect from 15th April 2019.Visa Fees are payable in Russian rubles as per the prevailing exchange rates.
  • There is a service charge of RUB 1440/- (inclusive of VAT) per application over and above the visa fees for all applicants.
  • The fees are non-refundable.

Visa fee exceptions:

Attention! The decision on exemption from the Consular fee is made only on the basis of the submitted documents and their compliance with the requirements of the Embassy of Spain.

  • Children under 6 years;
  • Family members of EU citizens (when traveling to Spain with an EU citizen or for the purpose of family reunification with him):
    • spouses, registered partners, cohabiting couple, if there are supporting documents
    • Children and children of a spouse/cohabitant who have not reached the age of 21 or older, but are dependent or incapacitated, etc.

Below you can find the list of requisite documents that you need to provide while applying for a Schengen visa.

Please take into account the following information before you apply for a visa:

  • Each applicant (including minor children) has to present a separate (individual) set of documents.
  • If your application is incomplete and you still wish to submit it, the visa application centre can accept your documents but will bear no responsibility for any possible negative consequences: delays in processing, restrictions on entries (f.ex, one entry visa instead of multiple entry visa) and days of stay and even denial. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to submit complete application.
  • Please, be aware that in case of previous refusal in any Schengen visa the Consulate General of Spain will contact the relative Consulate/Embassy in order to make enquiries about the reason of refusal. This procedure can take some time.
  • All documents must be typed. Hand-written documents will not be accepted. Copies of documents must be taken only on A4 paper format.
  • The Consulate General of Spain in St.Petersburg can demand any additional documentation or information in case of necessity. Please, do not send any documents directly to the Consulate. If there is a request of any additional document, Spain visa application centre will contact you by phone.

If the applicant is not registered in our zone but working with company in Saint Petersburg then he/she must provide documents through which he/she can prove that he/she living in Saint Petersburg from long time:

Confirmation for professional status:

  • Letter from Company stating his salary, designation, joining date, with full address of company and contact details duly signed & stamped.
  • Statement of salary account (In which he/she getting salary every month from his company).

Rules of submission under urgent scheme (“Urgent Visa”)

"Urgent Visa" service is available in Saint-Petersburg only for citizens of Russia and other countries that signed Visa Facilitation Agreement with the European Union and can be used only by seamen and people going to Spain for business affairs. Please, submit your Application form with the new photo format, as explained below:

photo requirement

  • The photograph MUST be in colour and have only a white background.
  • The photograph must have been taken within the last six months.
  • The photograph must be submitted glued to the application form.
  • The photo submitted must measure: 3.5 cms x 4.5 cms with the head centred in the frame. The head (measured from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin) should measure about 3 cms.
  • The photograph must be a full-face front view in which the visa applicant is facing the camera directly.
  • In general, the applicant's head, including both face and hair, should be shown from the crown of the head to the tip of the chin on top and bottom and from hairline side-to-side. It is preferable that ears be exposed.

Please follow these instructions carefully. If the photograph presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete.

The visa application must be made not earlier than 6 months prior to the travel date, and seamen – 9 months prior to the travel date.

Please, note that you need to apply for a visa at least 20 calendar days prior to your intended travel date. Each visa application is considered individually, so, in connection with this, a processing time can be extended up to 45 calendar days.
